Sustainability

Sustainability is a core value for Farrand Hall. We take every step possible to ensure our footprint leaves the planet better than we found it.

Our food waste is converted into compost and chicken feed.

We purchase only what we need and often to ensure reduced waste.

As much as possible our ingredients come from locally sourced farms within just miles of the property or from our own gardens.

We employ 100% locally, reducing transportation pollution.

Our Black dining building utilizes heated concrete flooring reducing energy usage. It also captures rain runoff and diverts it back into our natural pond to support wildlife.

A large portion of the property is left undeveloped and natural to support a strong ecosystem around us.

Our septic field is covered in a wild flower garden supporting both wildlife as well as providing edible flowers for the dinners.

We host several bee hives to support pollination of our orchard and flowers and to harvest honey throughout the year.
