Chef Jake Szary’s love for food was born in his grandmothers kitchen, raised by the hands of his artisan parents, and honed under the teachings of iconic Detroit chefs such as Andy Hollyday & Brian Polycn.
The Executive Chef of The Daxton Hotel, housing celebrated Birmingham restaurant, ‘Madam’, earned early status with Hour Detroit’s 2023 Restaurant of the Year just one year after its inception.
Szary delivers a vibrant balance to his modern dishes, often inspired by the Spanish coastline. Thoughtfully borrowing from the spice rooms of the far east while paying homage to classic French technique. Letting the ingredients tell their story is a conscious act, distilled from an unwavering ethos bound in his commitment to the skilled Farmers and Foragers of Michigan.
